Bradley Allen Hughes is here!!

I completely forgot I even had this blog until today when I noticed that the last time I wrote was when I was 30 weeks pregnant:) Sorry!! Bradley was born Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 5 pm. He weighed in at 9 pounds 1 oz, 21 inches long!
Bradley has been growing sooooo much the past 2 1/2 months:) I can't believe it wll be 11 weeks ago tomorrow! He weighed 14 pounds Dec 1st, so who knows how much he weighs now. I am so excited for our first Christmas and have been doing a lot of holiday baking... not so good for losing the baby weight, but as usual January 1st will kick off a great year of fitness. Bradley loves looking at the tree. Whenever he is fussy, I take him over there and he calms right down. He also loves playing in his jungle gym play matt. It is so neat to hear all of his coos and see his smiles. That is the best part about being a Mommy! I love it:) Merry Christmas everyone!

Less than a month away!

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! We have pretty much everything I can think of for him and it is all ready:) Any suggestions on things to get that you wished you had when you came home from the hospital? Thanks everybody!

Time is Flyin'!!

I can't believe that tomorrow it is August already! As of today I am 30 weeks pregnant and can't believe that in a little over 2 months the baby will make his appearance. We have been thinking of names, but until I see the little guy, nothing is certain. I would hate to name him Albert if he totally looks like a Justin:) This upcoming month, we hope to move into a 2 bedroom apartment, but may remain in our 1 bedroom. I have heard that being a 1 bedroom is doable for the first year. I have also been reading The Baby Whisperer and What to Expect. Both books present the facts and aren't too extreme in one philosophy or another. We are also planning a trip to Wisconin at the end of August, which I am a little nervous to fly, but it will be fine. I just can't wait to hold our baby boy in my arms:)

Karate Kick!!

Matt and I felt the baby's first kick! It felt like someone flicking me from the inside of my tummy out:) We were watching Iron Man 2 and the theature had some loud sound effects. I learned that the babies senses are developing and he can possibly hear now. Maybe all the loud noise made him jump; I know it made me jump a few times. Now we have a little kicker!

It's a .....BOY!!

Matt and I are so excited! I have known this whole time that he was:) Now for the name game! So far we like: Eli and Josh, but we will see. If you hear any ideas for cute names post them. The last few weeks I have also started to push out a little baby tummy. Here I am!

My First Ultra-Sound

Now I officially believe without a doubt I am going to be a mother!!! There is actually a little life growing inside me!! It was so so neat to see Matt and I's little baby doing complete rolls, kicking, putting its sweet hand on its face:) Wow! I am truely amazed. Since I saw how much the baby moves, all day I have been thinking about whether or not I can feel it.. and I think I can if I lay on my tummy on the bed. It's like a little swishing feeling:) What a great moment! I will never forget it!

Doctor Visit!

So last week, I had my second doctor visit, or in other words, my first real baby appointment. After waiting a long two hours, the doctor comes in and starts talking to me for about ten minutes about this new philosopher he likes, finally takes my blood pressure, and tries to listen to the baby's heartbeat. But, it was still too early. All I kept thinking was "Shut up! I want to hear the heartbeat.", but at least the 29th I will for sure. I will have my first ultra-sound and will see the little kumquat:) Couldn't be more excited!

p.s. does anyone have easy recipes to make? Food is currently the equivalent of dirt to me and I need all the fresh ideas I can get.

To Eat/ Not to Eat

Eat:
1) Pizza ( so far)
2) Coke
3) Ice cream
4) Goldfish crackers
5) Homemade tacos

Not to Eat:
1) Donuts
2) Nachos
3) Lasagna
4) Fiber one bars
5) Cold pizza ( interestingly)

I am learning that our little baby has tastebuds more like Matt. Matt says he knows the baby is his because I can drink Coke and actually feel better immediately, whereas with other foods it may take a while:)

Bun in the Oven!!

It's official! I am pregnant with my first one! Due October 9th. Matt and I are really excited and almost so much so it is hard to believe:) The constant nausea/hunger and tiredness convince me though. I always felt like I would never reach this point in life... that maybe I would get hit by a bus or just disappear before I would be a mother. I used to think that about getting through high school.. LOL, now here I am. I haven't disappeared or got hit by a bus, I am here and this is REALLY happening. So now my purpose for this blog can be stated.. it is about my family of 2 becoming 3, 4, and however many, and all the funny and exciting things that happen along the way.

I feel even more narcissistic having by having a blog and facebook, since my life is so interesting and all. There is a purpose for this blog beyond me talking of menial things. I will have to find out what those things are, but I think in a few weeks I will definitely have a more interesting topic of discussion:)
As for today, Matt and I are going to a David Baron concert, and more than likely eating at Moe's. With Matt working such crazy hours as an accountant, I really look forward to our time together.
